A: A clean out is a fitting in the piping which allows access for easy cleaning. Having a clean out can reduce the fee, because it allows access to the pipes without having to take things apart. We are happy to install a clean out if one is not available.

A: A slow drip of water can add up quickly, a sink that drips continuously can waste thousands of gallons of water per year.

A: One person uses roughly between 80-100 gallons of water.

A: No, toilet bowl cleaners of this style are usually very acidic and are known to deteriorate the rubber parts inside the tank. We recommend you only use cleaning products inside the bowl and not the tank.

A: Manufactures recommend you replace your washing machine hoses every 5 years.

A: We usually recommend re-piping be done when multiple fixtures show signs of low water pressure, or if there are continuous leak problems. Re-piping is also recommended when remodeling or doing any proactive upkeep of your home.

A: One reason may be that you have old corroded pipes. Another reason could be due to an active leak within your water system. And sometimes the problem lies directly within the fixture itself.

A: You may be running out of hot water due to the lack of maintenance to the tank which may be causing sediment build up. The parts on the water tank may also have become defective. This is a common problem for older, inefficient tanks that do not reheat fast enough to keep up with the demand of hot water.

A: Standard temperature for a hot water tank should be between 120-125 degrees.

A: Typically, a water heater lasts 10-15 years depending on water quality and maintenance. Annual maintenance can extend the life. Hard water or organic metals within your system, such as iron or manganese, will deteriorate the tank faster. Organic metals are usually only a problem on private well systems.
